Actor, Director and Screenwriter
Creator, screenwriter, and director of the series “Amor da Minha Vida" (Disney+), Matheus Souza began his career at the age of 20. His debut feature film, "Apenas o Fim", won Best Film at Festival do Rio and at the São Paulo International Film Festival, and also traveled to festivals around the world. He wrote and directed seven other feature films that have stood out at festivals, in Brazilian movie theaters, and on streaming platforms: "Ana e Vitória" (Netflix), "Me Sinto Bem Com Você" (Prime Video), "A Última Festa" (Globo Filmes), "Tá Escrito"(Globo Filmes), "Eu não faço a menor ideia do que eu tô fazendo com a minha vida", and "Tamo Junto".
Also as a screenwriter, he wrote Brazilian box-office hits such as "Eduardo e Mônica" (by René Sampaio) and "Confissões de Adolescente" (by Daniel Filho). He took part in the writers’ room for the series "Onde Está Meu Coração" (Globoplay) and for the program "Amor e Sexo" (Globo). He worked as a columnist for the newspaper O Globo for five years and directed three theater plays.
He is currently in post-production on his eighth feature film as a director, “Cinco Julias”, and on the second season of “Amor da Minha Vida”.
