Screenwriter
Leonardo Levis is a screenwriter graduated in Cinema at the Federal Fluminense University and between 2005 and 2009 acted as a critic of Contracampo Magazine. In 2009, he founded with two other partners the Blum Filmes, a carioca production company dedicated to the production of films and film exibitions, for which he made a series of short films shown at various festivals, as well as being curator of the John Ford and Discovering Filipino Cinema shows, both at the CCBB.
In 2011, he worked as a screenwriter for the production company Zola, led by José Henrique Fonseca, and was leader of the creative core of the production company Mira Filmes. He collaborated on the screenplay for films such as Qualquer Gato Vira-Lata, directed by Tomás Portella and Daniela De Carlo, Alemão, directed by José Eduardo Belmonte, and the comedy O Concurso, directed by Pedro Vasconcellos, a successful film with over 1 million viewers.
Leonardo wrote the feature O Filho Eterno, by Paulo Machline, nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay at the Prêmio Guarani de Cinema Brasileiro, Cantão da Volt, by Gustavo Rosa de Moura and Sem Seu Sangue, directed by Alice Furtado. He developed, among other projects, the comedy Antes Tarde do Que Nunca, a co-production with FOX and Warner, still to be released.
On television, in 2015, he wrote the drama series O Hipnotizador, for HBO Brasil and was one of the creators, writers and directors of the sitcom Quero Ter Um Milhão de Amigos, aired by Warner. In 2016, he was one of the creators and screenwriters of the web series comedy Sala dos Roteiristas (with over 600,000 views). He was a screenwriter for the series Irmandade, directed by Pedro Morelli for Netflix.
