Born in 1979, he attended the Theater Course in Actor Training at the Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema, in Lisbon, and became co-founder of the company Teatronacional21.

In cinema, he has acted in films such as "The Mysteries of Lisbon" (directed by Raul Ruiz) and "The Lines of Wellington" (directed by Valeria Sarmiento), selected for the Venice, Cannes and Toronto Film Festivals. He made "A Herdade" (directed by Tiago Guedes), "The Nothingness Club" (directed by Edgar Pêra), "Anestesia" (directed by Pedro Varela) and "Restos do Vento" (directed by Tiago Guedes), selected for the 2023 Cannes Film Festival.

On television and streaming, he starred in the series "El Presidente" (Amazon Prime), directed by Oscar winner Armando Bó. She has also acted in "Mar Branco" (Netflix), "Vikings" (History Channel/MGM), "The One" (Netflix), "Glória" (Netflix), "Rabo de Peixe" (Netflix) and "Sara", for RTP1 - the main Portuguese TV channel - among others.

In theater, he has acted in plays such as "Quarteto" (Heiner Muller), "Pocilga" (Pier Paolo Pasolini) and "Orgia" (Pasolini), "Coriolano" (Shakespeare), "A Morte de Danton" (Georg Büchner), "O Falecido Mattia Pascal" (Pirandello), among others.

He was nominated for Best Actor at the Sophia Awards for his work in "Remains of the Wind". For "The Homestead", he won Best Actor at the Dublin International Film Festival and the Subtitle International Festival and was nominated for the Sophia Awards, SPA Awards and Golden Globes. For the series The One, he won Best Supporting Actor for Mário Barroso's Moral Order at the Entertainment Awards and the Sophia Award for Best Supporting Actor for the film "Lines of Wellington".
