Rui Ricardo Diaz is an actor with a degree in Theatre from the Catholic University of PUC - TUCA (1995) and Visual Arts from the Faculty of Fine Arts of São Paulo (1998), specializing in Physical Theatre and Mime at the International School of Corporeal Mime - London, England.

He has starred in films such as "Lula, o Filho do Brasil" (2009, directed by Fábio Barreto and Marcelo Santiago), for which he was nominated for best actor by the ACIE in 2011, and "Aos Ventos Que Virão" (2013, directed by Hermanno Penna). He also acted in the feature films "De Menor" (2013, directed by Caru Alves Souza), awarded Best Film at the Rio Film Festival; "A Floresta Que Se Move" (2015, directed by Vinicius Coimbra), "Blitz" (2018, directed by Rene Brasil) and "SP: Crônica de uma Cidade Real" (2018, directed by Elder Fraga).

He was part of the cast of the Globo soap operas "Lado a Lado" (2012) and "O Tempo Não Para" (2018), as well as the miniseries and series "Supermax" (2016, Globo), "Rua Augusta" (2018, TNT), "Irmãos Freitas" (2019, Space), "Segunda Chamada" (2021, Globo) and "Sentença" (2022, Amazon). He is currently one of the protagonists of the series "Impuros" (Star+/Disney) and is part of the main cast of the series "Amar é Para os Fortes" (Amazon, 2023) and "Notícias Populares" (2023 Canal Brasil/Globoplay), as well as the series "Pedaços de Mim", soon to be released by Netflix.

In theater, he has acted in shows such as "Macário" (2004, directed by Marcello Airoldi, text by Álvares de Azevedo), "O Cobrador" (2006, directed by Paulo Fabiano), "A Propósito da Chuva" (2010, directed by Paulo Fabiano) and "A Propósito da Chuva" (2010, directed by Fiódromo). Paulo Fabiano, text by Fiódor Dostoiévski adapted by Rui Ricardo Diaz and Paulo Fabiano), "The Stone Angel" (2011, directed by Inês Aranha, text by Tennessee Williams), "Teorema 21" (2016, directed by Janaina Leite and Luiz Fernando Marques). He was playwright and actor in the solo show "A Hora e Vez" (2014-2021), considered by the O Globo newspaper as "One of the happiest and most poetic translations of Guimarães Rosa's language to the stage".
