Mariana Youssef
Director and Screenwriter
Mariana Youssef is a director and screenwriter. She studied theater at the Celia Helena School, and at the Judith Weston Studio in L.A, with Mr. Guillermo Arriaga in Chile and attended the São Paulo School of Cinema.
After a long journey she became one of the most representative names of advertising in Brazil and Latin America, directing campaigns for J&J, Rolling Stones, Fiat, Sky, Natura, Samsung, among other brands. Mariana won the Silver Lion at the Cannes Film Festival with the spot Steves for the Argentine Rolling Stone Magazine. She also won the Emerging Director category at the One Screen Short Film Festival, with the film Bolt vs. Flame by Nissan.
In entertainment, one of her short films, B-Flat, filmed in India, was shown at several festivals, such as the Cairo International Festival and the Madrid International Film Festival. Mariana is the director of the new Amazon Prime series, LOV3, to be released. The director will soon run the feature already shooted Viúvas, a co-production ATR (Mariana’s production company) and Paranoid.
Today she is the leader and ambassador of the Free the Work movement in Brazil, a worldwide platform aimed at women professionals in the TV and advertising market. She is the general director of the series As Seguidoras for Paramount+. She is currently the director and creator of a series in production, still in secrecy.
