Director and screenwriter

 

Lô Politi is a director and screenwriter. Her debut feature film, "Jonas" (2016), won the Special Jury Prize at the Rio International Film Festival and is available on Netflix in 190 countries.

Her second feature film, "Sol" (2022), won awards at festivals such as Rio, Miami, Los Angeles, and BRICS.

Lô also directed the documentary "Palácio da Alvorada" (2021), in partnership with Anna Muylaert, exploring the impeachment of Brazilian president Dilma Rousseff. The film premiered at the Sheffield Film Festival and earned her the Best Director award at the CCXP Awards.

Her most recent film, "Meu nome é Gal" (2023), portrays the life of Brazilian singer Gal Costa between 1966 and 1971 and was released with strong critical and box-office success.

Since then, she has taken part in several festivals, including those in Rio, Havana, Los Angeles, and Paris, among others. She is currently working on the fiction feature "Apneia", her fifth feature film, which is expected to be released in 2027.
