Felipe Cabral

Writer and Screenwriter

 

Felipe Cabral is an actor, screenwriter, playwright, director, and writer. He graduated in Journalism from PUC-Rio and in Performing Arts from UCAM, starting his artistic career at the renowned school O Tablado.

In theater, his most enduring project is FESTU - the University Theater Festival, with annual editions since 2010. In addition to serving as artistic director, Felipe also hosts the event. As an actor, he has performed in over 15 productions, with his recent works including "O Filho do Presidente," a play by American playwright Christopher Shinn, and the comedy about same-sex families "40 Anos Esta Noite," for which he was nominated for the 2019 Humor Award for Best Text and Best Performance.

His first novel, "O Primeiro Beijo de Romeu," was released by Galera Record during the 2021 Bienal book fair.

At Rede Globo, he contributed to the soap operas "Totalmente Demais" (2015) - nominated for the International Emmy Award in the Best Telenovela category - and "Bom Sucesso" (2019), which received the 2019 APCA Award for Best Soap Opera.

In streaming, he was the head writer for "5x Comédia," an original series on Amazon Prime, and wrote the series "Totalmente Sem Noção Demais" for Globoplay. On Multishow, he wrote for the 4th, 5th, and 6th seasons of "Vai Que Cola," the 3rd season of "A Vila," and the 1st season of "Quero Ser Solteira."

In cinema, he directed, wrote, and acted in short films such as "Gaydar" (2012), "Rótulo" (2013), "Aceito" (2014), and "Você" (2017). He also wrote the screenplay for the short films "Meu Preço" (2018), directed by Hsu Chien, and "Simples Assim" (2021), directed by Luciana Bitencourt, participating in 150 festivals and winning 30 awards for his films.
