Everlane Moraes is a Brazilian filmmaker, born in Cachoeira (Bahia) and raised in Aracaju (Sergipe). A graduate of the Escuela Internacional de Cine y TV in Cuba (EICTV, Cuba), she works as a director, screenwriter, teacher, and consultant. She is a member of Center Frame’s Core Community (UK) and of APAN — the Association of Black Audiovisual Professionals (Brazil); she was a Fellow at the Flaherty Film Seminar (USA, 2021); she is part of Projeto Paradiso’s Talent Network (Brazil), and participated in the Colaboratório Criativo program — Netflix (Brazil, 2020) and Talents Guadalajara’s Directors’ Meeting (2019). She is the producer and creator of Pàttàki Audiovisual and recently co-directed the series “Histórias Impossíveis” for Rede Globo (2023).

Her films move across different genres and formats, foregrounding sociocultural, philosophical, and spiritual issues within the Black diaspora. They have been shown at festivals, galleries, and VOD platforms such as Sundance, Rotterdam, BFI London, Toulouse, Womxn in Windows, One Story Up, Hangar, among others. Everlane was honored at the 5th edition of Cabíria Festival (2023) and the 4th edition of the Sergipe Black Film Showcase — Egbé (2019). She received the Maria Beatriz Nascimento Medal of Honor (2018) from the Sergipe State Legislative Assembly and the City Council of Aracaju, as well as a Motion of Applause (2023), in recognition of her contribution to culture in Sergipe, representing Black and Northeastern women in directing spaces.

Her feature-film projects have received support from the funds FSA Novos Realizadores (Brazil, 2023), William Greaves from Firelight Media (USA, 2020), IDFA Bertha (Netherlands, 2021 and 2022), Sundance Institute (USA, 2021), Göteborg (Sweden, 2021), Hubert Bals Fund (Netherlands, 2022), and SPCINE — Núcleos Criativos (Brazil, 2022).

They have also participated in major labs and markets such as Cannes Doc — Marché du Film (2022), IDF Academy (2020), Berlinale Talents (2020), American Film (2022), Brasil Cinemundi (2021), Ventana Sur (2021), Nuevas Miradas (2020), Talents Guadalajara Co-Production Market (2020), CineQuaNon Lab (2020), MiradasDoc (2019), BrLab Features (2020), Torino Film Lab Next (2021), Durban Film Mart (2020), Nordeste Lab (2020), Guangzhou International Documentary Festival (2020), and Good Pitch Brasil (2019), receiving awards including BH nas Telas (2022), MISTIKA (2021), PARATI FILMS (2021), NAYMOVIE/Edina Fujii (2021), DOT (2019), Jorge Portugal (2020), and Docubox East African Fund (2019)."
