Carol Durão directed the first two seasons of the series “Rensga Hits!” (Globoplay) and served as Lead Director on Season 3. On Netflix, her feature film “Doce Família” (2024) reached #2 in Brazil’s Top 10, #3 in Portugal’s Top 10, and made the Global Top 10 for non-English-language films. She also directed the Prime Video special “Feliz ano novo de novo” (2023).

She has also directed Multishow series such as “A Vila” (2018–2020), the first season of “Ferdinando Show, o Game” (2018), “Ferdinando Show” (2016–2018), and “Truque de Humor” (2018). For the web, she directed videos for Porta dos Fundos—a channel with millions of views—and the mockumentary “Ferdinando.Doc: Por trás da Diva” (2019).

She graduated from UFF in 2007, and her first short film, “Sistema Interno”, received an Honorable Mention Candango at the 40th Festival de Brasília in 2007. In 2010, she directed the segment “Ficar Parado Cansa” for the anthology feature “Desassossego, Filme das Maravilhas”, screened at the Rotterdam Film Festival. In 2011, she won the RioFilme/SEC-RJ public funding call with the short “Apocalipse de Verão”, which premiered in 2013 at the 16th Mostra Tiradentes. Screened at festivals such as Festival do Rio (Première Brasil) and the Guadalajara International Film Festival, it won editing and cinematography awards and was shown on the Hysteria platform and on the pay-TV channel Arte 1.

She worked for several years as a first assistant director on feature films, TV series, and commercials, with highlights including the features “Um Tio Quase Perfeito” (2017) and “Tô Ryca” (2016) by Pedro Antonio; “Tatuagem” (2013) by Hilton Lacerda; and “A Memória que Me Contam” (2012) by Lucia Murat; as well as the series “220 Volts” (2016, Multishow) and “Os Homens São de Marte... É pra Lá que Eu Vou” (2014, GNT), directed by Susana Garcia
