Caio Horowicz
Actor
Caio Horowicz is an actor, director, and playwright. He holds a degree in Performing Arts with a specialization in Theater Directing from ECA/USP and is currently studying at the School of Dramatic Art (EAD) at the same university. He founded the NAVIB Theater Group, to which he belonged during his three years of high school. He also founded À Espreita Companhia, a group in which he continues his research. In 2022, he was featured on Forbes Under 30 list as one of the highlights in Dramatic Arts.
In cinema, he made his debut with the feature film “Califórnia” (Dir. Marina Person), for which he won the award for Best Supporting Actor at the Rio Film Festival. He acted in the Argentine co-production “Sueño Florianópolis” (Dir. Ana Katz), “Hebe - O Filme” (Dir. Maurício Farias), and “Sem Pai Nem Mãe” (Dir. André Klotzel). He also starred in “A Torre” (Dir. Sérgio Borges) and “Música Para Morrer de Amor” (Dir. Rafael Gomes). Recently, he appeared in the feature films “ZÉ” (Dir. Rafael Conde) and “A Batalha da Rua Maria Antônia” (Dir. Vera Egito), both yet to be released.
On TV, he began his career with the series “Família Imperial” (2012, TV Futura), followed by “Que Monstro Te Mordeu?” (2014, TV Cultura) and “Hebe” (2020, TV Globo). On streaming platforms, he starred in the series “Da Ponte Pra Lá” (2024, Max) “Boca a Boca” (2020, Netflix) and 'Lov3' (2022, Prime Video).
In theater, he debuted with the play “Fauna Fácil de Bestas Simples'“ in 2015. In 2019, he performed “Música Para Cortar os Pulsos 2.0” at Sesc 24 de Maio. 2023, he premiered his first solo show, “MOFO”, at Sesc Ipiranga - directed by Aline Filócomo and Thiago Amaral, the result of the latest research by Cia Hiato. As a director, he has been conducting research deeply rooted in acting. He created the original plays “A Cena Aberta As Três Irmãs” in 2017, “A Última Gaivota” in 2018 - under the guidance of Antônio Araújo, Cibele Forjaz, and Lucienne Guedes -, and “Temporal” in 2019 - guided by Antônio Araújo. As a playwright, he is the author of “Temporal” and “MOFO”.
