Andre Mifano

Chef and Presenter

Paulista and with 27 years of career, Chef André Mifano already has strong recognition in the gastronomy scene.

In 2008, the chef opened his Italian cuisine restaurant, Vito, earning him the Chef Revelation award from Veja Comer & Beber in the following year. After seven years, André closed its doors, and after a year, he opened his signature cuisine restaurant, the acclaimed Lilu, which ceased its activities in October 2020. During the following year, he dedicated himself to designing a new project while continuing as the host of Anthony Bourdain's Parts Unknown on CNN.

In November 2021, the restaurant Donna was born, an Italian spot in Jardins, where André revisits the cuisine that made his name in São Paulo. Defined by him as Italo-Paulistana, Donna's kitchen revisits some classics but takes a step further. It carries all the chef's personal baggage acquired in these 27 years of his profession. André's passion for cured meats and, especially, pork has always found expression in his menus, from Vito to the current Donna. Another signature of the São Paulo chef is the constant research for ingredients he wants to bring to his menu, a close relationship with small producers, and the sustainability involved in the selected products for his recipes.

Beyond the kitchen, André also has a strong media presence. He hosted the “Taste It” program on the “Glitz” channel in 2011; was a mentor on “The Taste Brasil”, a reality show on GNT, alongside renowned chefs like Claude Troigros and Felipe Bronze, in seasons between 2015 and 2018. In 2018, he was the host and judge of “Sabor em Jogo”, also on GNT. His television shine continued in 2020 when invited to be the host of Anthony Bourdain's “Places Unknown” on CNN Brasil. In 2024 he will be a judge on the tenth season of the program "Bake Off Brasil: Mão na Massa", a co-production of SBT and Max.
