Philippe Barcinski

Philippe Barcinski has a master's degree in cinema from USP and over 30 years' experience in audiovisual direction.

He has directed short and feature films, soap operas, fiction and documentary series for children, young people and adults.

He has won more than 50 awards for his work in cinema. An exponent of the short film scene in the 1990s with films such as "Palíndromo" (2001), "A Janela Aberta" (2001) and the most recent "A Escada" (2024), noted for their authorial language, he took part in official competitions at festivals such as Cannes and Berlin.

He directed the feature films "Não Por Acaso" (2007) and "Entre Vales" (2012) and was a member of the team of advertising directors at O2 Filmes.

In television, he has worked for TV Cultura, MTV and TV Globo. He has directed series for Netflix, ARTE-France and Discovery Kids. He began as assistant and director of the classic "Castelo Rá Tim Bum" (1997) and directed under the artistic supervision of Fernando Meirelles, Cao Hamburger, Luiz Fernando Carvalho and José Luiz Villamarim.

His work in television and streaming includes the series "Carcereiros" (2017-2021, Globo), "3%" (Season 2, 2018, Netflix), "Que Monstro Te Mordeu?" (2014, TV Cultura) and "Cidade dos Homens" (2004, Globo) and Globo soap operas such as "Mania de Você" (2024), "Amor de Mãe" (2019-2021) and "Velho Chico" (2016), as well as more than 20 episodes of documentary series.

His last job as artistic director was the series "Route 66" for Globoplay and as scene director, the soap opera "Mania de Você" for TV Globo.
