Maitê Proença is an actress, presenter and writer. At the age of 17, she moved to Paris, where she took courses at the prestigious Sorbonne University. When she returned to Brazil, she resumed her studies at USP in a theater course that led her to work in television.

In theater, she received great reviews for her monologue “A Mulher de Bath” (2018, directed by Amir Haddad), and has acted in other shows such as “À Beira do Abismo me Cresceram Asas” (2013, directed by Maitê Proença and Clarice Niskier), “Achadas e Perdidas” (2005, directed by Roberto Talma) and “Isabel” (2000, directed by Domingos de Oliveira).

On television, he made the Globo soap operas “Liberdade, Liberdade” (2016), “Alto Astral” (2014), “Gabriela” (2012), “Passione” (2010), “Caminho das Índias’ (2009) and the now-defunct Rede Manchete classic “Dona Beja” (1985). She also appeared in the series “Bom Dia, Verônica” (2024, Netflix), “Me Chama de Bruna” (2017, FOX), “Brava Gente” (2002, Globo), “A Vida Como Ela É” (1997, Globo), among others.

In cinema, she has acted in feature films such as “Meu Amigo Hindu” (2015, directed by Hector Babenco), “Primeiro Dia de um Ano Qualquer” (2012, directed by Domingos de Oliveira), “Elvis e Madonna” (2007, directed by Marcelo Laffitte), “Sal de Prata” (2006, directed by Carlos Gerbase) and won Best Actress awards for her roles in “Vox Populi” (1997, directed by Marcelo Laffitte), “16060” (1997, directed by Vinícius Mainardi), “A Dama do Cine Xangai” (1987, directed by Guilherme de Almeida Prado), “Brasa Adormecida” (1984, directed by Djalma Batista) and “História Passional, Hollywood, Califórnia” (1983, directed by Carlos Porto, Louis Chilson and Leonardo Crescenti).
